Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Build scalable pipelines for satellite imagery, metadata, annotations, storage, and model-training systems.
- Track data lineage and versioning from source imagery through guidelines and annotators.
- Develop, adapt, train, deploy, and evaluate machine learning and computer vision models.
- Build and operate batch or real-time production inference pipelines.
- Use model feedback to prioritize imagery for future labeling.
- Build and operate cloud services, workflow orchestration, containerized services, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Support production systems through debugging, observability, secure configuration, and incident response.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in machine learning engineering, data engineering, backend software engineering, or a closely related technical role.
- Hands-on experience training, fine-tuning, or adapting deep learning models with a modern ML framework.
- Experience deploying machine learning models into production and managing model versions.
- Experience operating cloud services involving compute, databases, storage, and identity and access management.
- Experience building and operating workflow orchestration for data or ML pipelines.
- Experience owning containerized services, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Strong Python application development skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Geospatial Science or GIS, Remote Sensing, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Preferred experience with Google Cloud Platform, Vertex AI or Kubeflow Pipelines, PostgreSQL, PostGIS, satellite or aerial imagery, GeoTIFF, coordinate reference systems, GDAL, Rasterio, Shapely, Fiona, GeoPandas, and computer vision tasks such as object detection, segmentation, or change detection.
