Responsibilities
- Analyze complex security issues, including security events and threat models.
- Monitor, operate, configure, and remediate security tools such as firewalls and anti-malware systems.
- Implement security processes and standards, including the Michaels Secure Coding Standard.
- Develop hands-on security automation integrating with DevOps and DevSecOps tools.
- Independently manage security controls, tools, and monitoring.
- Execute systems strategies and resolve cross-functional issues in support of business goals.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and internal and external partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related STEM field.
- At least 5 years of experience in security engineering.
- Experience with multiple security components, including firewalls and IPS, and competency across the security stack.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices in application development and DevOps.
- Experience managing application security training programs.
- Experience with GCP or AWS, containers, and serverless technologies.
- Experience with web development languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript.
- Experience with Windows and Unix-like operating systems, endpoint applications, networking protocols and devices, SSO, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and software development lifecycle practices.
- Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, CCNP, OSCP, GIAC, or cloud solution architect certifications.
- Experience with emerging practices from OWASP, NIST, and SANS.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a changing, fast-paced environment.
