Responsibilities
- Integrate robust, performant, scalable, reliable, and observable AI solutions into business operational processes using technologies such as FastAPI.
- Coordinate with IT, operations, data science, and analyst teams to integrate AI solutions with insurance systems and align technical requirements and deployment strategies.
- Own end-to-end delivery of features spanning data pipelines, models, APIs/services, and Angular or React front-end interfaces.
- Use CI/CD tools, automated testing, cloud infrastructure, containers, infrastructure as code, and observability practices to deliver reliable updates.
- Stay current with software engineering and AI advancements and contribute to the team’s technical knowledge base.
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor for squad members and influence the technical roadmap.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent education and experience.
- At least six years of significant development experience.
- Strong Python backend development skills and proficiency with Angular or React, FastAPI, and SQL.
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools including GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Kiro.
- Experience with backend and UI automated testing and familiarity with observability tools and practices.
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS, including Amazon S3, Snowflake, BigQuery, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability.
- Strong data engineering skills and experience using Git for version control, code review, and collaboration.
- Understanding of GenAI building blocks including prompting, agentic frameworks, evaluations, guardrails, RAG, embeddings/vector databases, fine-tuning, graph databases with LLMs, MCP, and reasoning models.
- Databricks technologies such as Unity Catalog and Delta Lake and knowledge of MLOps best practices are assets.
- Quebec-based candidates must be bilingual in French and English, and all candidates must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date.
