Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end performance testing strategy across all Appspace product lines.
- Design, build, and maintain a performance testing framework using k6 and Locust.
- Establish performance baselines for critical user journeys and service boundaries.
- Integrate automated performance gates into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Leverage AI tools throughout the entire test lifecycle.
- Define and enforce performance SLAs across all product domains.
- Work closely with AI Delivery Leads to trigger automated load tests.
- Co-author performance test plans with domain engineers.
- Build and operate regression detection alerting.
- Champion performance engineering best practices across teams.
- Communicate performance posture and regression trends to leadership.
- Grow the function by mentoring a Phase 2 AI QE / Performance Engineer.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in software engineering with a focus on performance testing.
- Proven experience designing and executing load and performance test strategies.
- Strong proficiency with k6 and/or Locust for load testing.
- Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools for test development.
- Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API design.
- Experience with observability tooling for baseline measurement.
- Experience with version control tools and trunk-based development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently in a globally distributed team.
