Base Salary
$62k - $100k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define common problems and identify reusable solutions within the existing codebase.
- Develop libraries and services for common machine learning product requirements.
- Collaborate with data scientists to move machine learning models from prototype to production.
- Support client intake conversations, data exploration, feature development, bug fixes, and software releases.
- Execute assigned project tasks with direction and support while meeting team code-quality standards.
- Identify and escalate risks and support assigned mitigations in a finance and accounting environment.
- Support team growth through pair programming, code review, and knowledge sharing.
- Champion adoption of Toolkit libraries and services.
Requirements
- Programming experience with strong coding ability; Python experience is preferred.
- Software engineering experience with algorithm design and data structures.
- Comfort working in Linux-based systems and using Docker to develop and deliver APIs.
- Ability to manage time across research and tool development with some autonomy.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Adaptability across computer science and machine learning problems and changing requirements.
- Attention to detail, including identifying edge cases, writing maintainable code, documenting work, and creating comprehensive test cases.
- Interest in learning new technologies and improving or exploring libraries.
- Curiosity about machine learning, including learning algorithms and data preprocessing strategies.
- An educational, research, or hobby background in software engineering, computer science, or a related field is a differentiator.
- Familiarity with C, C++, or Go is a plus.
- Additional experience with cloud computing, distributed systems, or CI/CD is a plus.
