Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate distributed Managed Gateways systems resilient to regional and zonal outages.
- Own major features and modules from technical design through implementation and production rollout.
- Build control-plane components and services for Dedicated Cloud Gateways and Serverless Gateways.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to deliver scalable API platform features.
- Participate in on-call rotations, operate production services, and drive reliability improvements.
- Develop automated tests, observability hooks, and tooling to improve reliability and reduce toil.
- Lead technical execution, contribute to the technical roadmap, mentor engineers, and assist with hiring.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience building high-performance software, ideally in infrastructure or platform engineering.
- Strong experience with Golang and cloud-native architectures.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and networking, including L4/L7, DNS, TLS/SSL, and HTTP.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform and Kubernetes.
- Experience building and standardizing APIs, creating API workflows, and operating systems with 99.99%+ uptime SLAs.
- Ability to debug complex systems from packet- and protocol-level details through high-level architecture.
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring practices for high availability and performance.
- Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, and technical leadership skills.
- Preferred experience with Nginx, Envoy, HAProxy, API management, developer platforms, multi-cloud networking, or open-source infrastructure and networking projects.
