Responsibilities
- Contribute to the transition from monolithic to distributed architecture and design agentic-ready platform components.
- Write production-quality Python and build and optimize distributed compute and backend services.
- Implement reliable workflow orchestration patterns and APIs or service interfaces.
- Contribute to automated testing, deployment, CI/CD pipelines, observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and performance scaling.
- Make technical decisions for owned components while balancing immediate needs with long-term architecture goals.
- Mentor engineers, share knowledge, improve engineering practices, interview candidates, and onboard new hires.
- Collaborate with product and engineering peers to translate requirements into technical solutions and support prioritization.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience.
- Broad software engineering experience across deployment, CI/CD, automated testing, and production reliability.
- Experience with distributed systems and building and operating backend services end to end.
- Experience designing APIs and service interfaces.
- Security-minded development experience, including authentication and authorization such as OAuth.
- Strong production Python development skills.
- Production experience with Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Airflow, or Kubeflow.
- Cloud platform experience, preferably AWS; Azure and GCP experience are a plus.
- Familiarity with data-processing frameworks such as Spark, Athena, or Ray is a plus.
- Strong technical communication, collaboration, leadership, ownership, and mentorship capabilities.
