Responsibilities
- Architect and build intuitive iOS and tvOS applications.
- Lead mobile technology strategy, architecture, best practices, and technology-stack decisions.
- Develop and maintain software tools, production systems, mobile backend APIs, and application-release pipelines.
- Troubleshoot production problems, perform root-cause analysis, and debug software.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Delivery, Editorial, and Engineering teams on CNN Digital experiences.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership and guidance.
- Ensure solutions follow architecture, security, governance, coding, monitoring, logging, testing, and service-enablement standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in a professional software development environment.
- Advanced understanding of troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, application design, solution development, usability design, and enterprise project implementation.
- Strong programming fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
- Experience developing and maintaining applications and existing codebases.
- Full-mobile-stack development experience across native mobile clients and SDKs, build CI/CD, and APIs, including Swift and SwiftUI.
- Expertise architecting performant, scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud solutions on AWS.
- Hands-on experience with mobile DevOps CI/CD tools, code-signing automation, and automated tests.
- Familiarity with Jenkins, Git, Maven/Gradle, Swift Package Manager, CocoaPods, Terraform, and Appium preferred.
- Familiarity with SQL/RDBMS, NoSQL, GraphDB, AWS, OpenStack, and OpenShift.
- AWS Professional Certification preferred but not required.
- Effective written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams.
