Responsibilities
- Champion site reliability culture and practices and share knowledge through internal forums and communities of practice.
- Lead initiatives to improve the reliability, stability, scalability, and performance of applications and platforms using data-driven analytics.
- Define service level indicators, service level objectives, error budgets, and stakeholder alignment with customers.
- Serve as the main point of contact during major incidents and troubleshoot issues quickly to minimize business and financial impact.
- Provide technical expertise, advice, and mentorship to other engineers.
- Use and govern enterprise-authorized AI capabilities for incident triage, troubleshooting, post-incident analysis, knowledge capture, and reliability workflows.
- Establish appropriate guardrails, traceability, auditability, resiliency, and security controls for AI-assisted SDLC and operational practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in site reliability engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and other SRE practices.
- Fluency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, or .NET.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to improve SRE workflows, with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Ability to evaluate AI-assisted operational recommendations, define team-use guardrails, and align outcomes with resiliency and security expectations.
- Proficiency in observability, including white-box and black-box monitoring, service-level-objective alerting, and telemetry collection.
- Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery practices and tooling.
- Preferred: proficiency with containers and container orchestration.
- Preferred: experience troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues.
- Preferred: advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes, with the ability to evaluate and recommend new technologies.
