Responsibilities
- Define, execute, and maintain highly automated testing across functional, integration, contract, performance, load, and end-to-end application testing.
- Establish domain-level testing strategies and ensure the availability of suitable test data.
- Identify effective quality-assurance solutions where automation has limitations.
- Coach and guide junior Quality Engineers and support colleagues in improving software quality expertise.
- Advance testing tools, processes, and ways of working while embedding shared quality ownership.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure testable feature specifications and promote effective testing approaches.
- Contribute across the software lifecycle from design and building through testing and deployment.
- Research, evaluate, and test new tools and approaches with Practice and Group Enabler teams.
- Participate in Communities of Practice and shared initiatives.
- Drive technical excellence, continuous learning, ownership, and self-organisation within the team.
Requirements
- Deep, proven practical expertise in quality assurance practices, tools, and methods in agile environments at scale.
- Experience with cloud technologies and services, preferably AWS.
- Experience with the Atlassian toolset, including JIRA, Confluence, and integrations.
- Experience testing RESTful services, front-end applications, and automation end to end.
- Strong understanding of automation test strategy and its limitations.
- Working knowledge across testing lifecycle, testing techniques, testing expertise, and test and quality management.
- Proficiency with TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Experience with Playwright, Playwright Test Runner, Playwright API testing, built-in Playwright assertions, and Playwright request interception.
- Experience with npm, Git, ESLint, the PageObject pattern, and SonarQube.
- Experience with performance testing in Gatling Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of automation, functional, contract, integration, performance, and load testing.
- Experience with CI/CD, preferably GitLab CI.
- Practical knowledge of software engineering practices such as BDD and TDD.
- Proven ability to define and execute quality strategies at scale.
- Strong coaching, training, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and continuous-improvement skills.
- Understanding of the social and ethical implications of software engineering, such as the ACM Code of Ethics.
- Ability to work autonomously and comfortably with ambiguity in an international, multicultural team.
