Staff Software Engineer (Backend)

Responsibilities
- Execute complex backend engineering projects involving APIs, data processing, infrastructure, and platform systems
- Drive key engineering initiatives and foster a culture of technical excellence
- Take ownership of backend systems and help establish engineering best practices
- Author technical proposals for complex project designs and team alignment
- Design architectures, provide feedback on technical designs, and conduct thorough code reviews
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and business impact
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend, platform, or system programming
- Experience with Python and its ecosystem
- Experience designing and building secure, scalable multi-tenant SaaS platforms with data isolation
- Production experience with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Production experience with relational databases
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, computational complexity, system design, data architecture, and data modeling
- Knowledge of common design patterns and API design and development best practices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences
- Preferred experience with mathematical optimization, logic or relational programming, database scaling, complex queries, batch or streaming data pipelines, platform engineering, infrastructure-as-code tools, or control systems engineering
