Responsibilities
- Complete a focused summer project with a member of the Software and AI/ML Engineering team.
- Gather, process, organize, and analyze data from multiple sources, especially clinical imaging and healthcare datasets.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, data quality issues, unexpected results, and preprocessing concerns.
- Help verify the quality, consistency, and reliability of data sources used for AI/ML model development and validation.
- Document data sources, cleaning processes, exploratory analysis, assumptions, parameters, and performance metrics.
- Assist data scientists and machine-learning engineers with model training, evaluation, tuning, and performance analysis.
- Complete required regulatory and quality-management-system training.
- Prepare and present an end-of-summer presentation covering the project, technical approach, results, learnings, and impact.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Exposure to data analysis, machine learning, statistics, or model evaluation through coursework, academic projects, research, internships, or personal projects.
- Interest in AI/ML, data science, medical imaging, healthcare data, clinical imaging software, or medical device software development.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, debugging, analytical thinking, communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, or similar development tools is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite at the Plymouth, Minnesota location.
- Ability to meet the stated physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements with or without accommodation.
- US work authorization without current or future sponsorship.
Benefits
- Paid 3–6 month internship opportunity during Summer 2027.
- Hourly base pay of $33.00–$36.00, plus overtime eligibility.
- Office-based work with at least three days per week in person; onsite roles require full-time presence at company facilities.
- No company relocation benefits; candidates must reside in or within commuting distance of Plymouth, Minnesota.
