$87k - $157k/yr
Responsibilities
- Identify embedded firmware and software requirements and evaluate design approaches for varied technical problems.
- Architect and design maintainable, robust, and performant embedded firmware and software platforms and related build and test processes.
- Implement, test, integrate, and verify firmware and software against functionality, reliability, usability, and project requirements.
- Develop engineering documentation, interface control documents, and software requirements specifications.
- Coordinate development efforts, design changes, feature priorities, bug fixes, and team feedback across the engineering group.
- Support rapid prototyping from concept development through iterative design, testing, and product demonstrations.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance are required; an active Secret clearance is preferred.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or another STEM field is required.
- At least 5 years of development and integration experience with Linux application software, Linux embedded systems, NVIDIA Jetson, RTOS or bare-metal microcontrollers, or ROS 2.
- Proficiency in C, software version control, Linux command-line tools, and Linux shell scripting is required.
- Working knowledge of embedded communications protocols, software development processes, and embedded electronics test equipment is required.
- Experience testing firmware and software and debugging complex purpose-built embedded electromechanical systems is required.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with OpenCV or similar computer vision, DSP or mathematical algorithms, robotics control modeling and simulation, embedded IDEs and tools, Matlab or Python, test automation, and graphical user interfaces.
- Must be able to work in lab, office, warehouse, pier, dock, and marine-vessel environments; handle objects up to 50 pounds; climb ladders up to 20 feet; work in loud, variable, or inclement conditions; and occasionally work overnight aboard vessels.
