Base Salary
$174k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain robust, scalable software systems and information retrieval infrastructure on top of LLMs.
- Design, develop, and iterate on algorithms for content retrieval, quality-signal extraction, and evaluation models.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while designing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and research teams across Google, including NotebookLM, Play Books, Core Data, and Search.
- Maintain high standards for code quality, system reliability, engineering practices, and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience with Java and C++.
- At least 1 year of experience with state-of-the-art GenAI techniques or related concepts such as LLMs, multimodal systems, large vision models, language modeling, or computer vision.
- Experience with data quality, information retrieval, ranking, search infrastructure, search quality, content evaluation, or signal extraction.
- Experience with large-scale data analysis, data pipelines such as Flume, and statistical methods.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred qualifications include 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, 3 years in complex matrixed organizations and cross-functional projects, 1 year in a technical leadership role, and experience developing accessible technologies.
