Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a flexible bioinformatics web ecosystem for data exploration and interpretation.
- Engineer, optimize, and validate scalable, configurable internal pipelines while maintaining production-quality standards.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-based applications, services, and data workflows.
- Deploy containerized workloads to the organization’s managed Kubernetes platform.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines, builds, and Docker images using GitHub and GCP.
- Script and automate common cloud and deployment tasks.
- Support machine-learning model deployment, training, and inference.
- Collaborate with platform developers, DevOps professionals, bioinformaticians, human geneticists, data scientists, wet-lab scientists, IT, security, and external collaborators.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, bioinformatics, biology, machine learning, statistics, or a related field.
- Full-stack development experience with strong Python coding skills.
- Experience with life-sciences applications, workflows, or systems in drug development, cheminformatics, or bioinformatics.
- Strong JavaScript development skills, preferably with Svelte.
- Experience designing, maintaining, and interfacing with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Experience with cloud environments, especially GCP, Docker, container-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and Git.
- Experience working collaboratively with technical and laboratory science teams.
- Preferred qualifications include Kubernetes cluster setup and management, machine-learning model deployment, GPU-based deep-learning training optimization, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, UI/UX, Nextflow, ArgoCD, Argo Workflows, Terraform, event queues, external cloud-service integration, and drug-discovery tool development.
