Base Salary
$125k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve lumped-parameter thermofluid models of the Raptor engine
- Conduct engine cycle analysis to guide future engine design and thrust upgrades
- Resolve anomalies using engine models and sparse instrumentation
- Develop understanding of rocket-engine physics, performance variability, modeling, and measurement techniques
- Improve Raptor representations used in vehicle simulations, control software validation, and flight Monte Carlo analysis
- Build tools and portals to identify engine performance variability and improve manufacturing and hardware design
- Automate software and processes for test-performance prediction and flight-performance predictions for guidance, navigation, control, and flight software
- Collaborate across the company to improve tool interoperability and standardize hardware and software practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a STEM discipline
- At least one year of experience writing computer software
- At least one year of experience with physics-based simulations of real dynamic systems
- Experience with dynamical systems modeling and lumped-parameter modeling of physical systems is preferred
- Preferred experience includes physics-informed neural networks, complex-system data analysis, sparse-measurement root-cause analysis, and combustion engines or fluid systems
- Preferred experience includes building data pipelines for sanitization, curation, visualization, and exploration of high-dimensional datasets
- Preferred full-stack web development experience, including database design and frontend development
- Preferred experience with Angular, React, or a similar JavaScript framework
- Preferred proficiency with Python, C#/.NET, C++, or Java
- Preferred experience with control feedback loop design, numerical analysis, and signal processing
- Preferred experience with version control, continuous integration, and Unix-like operating systems
- Applicants must satisfy applicable ITAR requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills are preferred
