Responsibilities
- Produce, emulate, and test PLC software and visualization systems.
- Interpret electrical schematics and design input information.
- Lead controls engineering activities for project design and implementation and provide technical guidance.
- Deliver assigned project scope while meeting safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Ensure supplied systems comply with CE requirements and the Machinery Directive.
- Prepare design calculations, specifications, method statements, risk assessments, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications.
- Commission controls systems on site and support system commissioning and end-user training.
- Follow Dematic standards and maintain a professional customer-facing approach.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Automation, Control Technologies, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Controls Software Engineer, Design Engineer, Automation Engineer, or in a similar role.
- Extensive hands-on experience in an industrial automation environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal and HMI software design and implementation.
- Good understanding of electrical and electronic technical manuals and drawings.
- Understanding of machine directive and safety standards.
- Strong knowledge of distributed control systems and industrial networks such as Profinet, Profibus, ASi, or Ethernet/IP.
- Extensive understanding of software testing and emulation.
- Previous use of CAD tools.
- SCADA and EPLAN familiarity is desirable.
- Understanding of automated warehouses is desirable.
- Willingness to travel internationally to customer sites for up to 60% of the time.
- Full working proficiency in English and a valid driving license.
