Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize inspection and metrology algorithms for semiconductor applications.
- Apply computer vision, image processing, machine learning, and deep learning techniques to product and customer challenges.
- Develop algorithms for defect detection, classification, image segmentation, image registration, alignment, and anomaly detection.
- Optimize algorithms for high-throughput production using CPU, GPU, and parallel computing techniques.
- Create characterization methodologies, benchmarking frameworks, validation strategies, and performance metrics.
- Analyze large datasets to identify algorithm performance gaps and drive improvements.
- Collaborate with product management, applications engineering, software, HPC, and systems engineering teams.
- Integrate algorithms into production software and participate in design reviews, implementation planning, testing, optimization, and releases.
- Investigate product issues, customer escalations, and field-related algorithm challenges.
- Document technical designs, validation results, and development practices.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of industry experience developing computer vision, image processing, machine learning, or computational imaging algorithms.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
- Strong knowledge of computer vision, image processing, machine learning, and deep learning techniques.
- Experience developing algorithms for complex, hardware-integrated systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Preferred experience in semiconductor inspection, metrology, semiconductor equipment, or a related industry.
- Preferred experience with CNNs, transformers, self-supervised learning, model optimization, detection, segmentation, registration, alignment, classification, and anomaly detection.
- Preferred experience with OpenCV, NumPy, PyTorch, TensorFlow, CUDA, GPU acceleration, CPU compute optimization, statistical analysis, experiment design, and performance characterization.
