Base Salary
$120k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write real-time C and C++ firmware that drives motion and haptic systems.
- Characterize actuator behavior on the bench and tune control loops for response time and user-perceived feel.
- Prototype early hardware, validate timing and interaction quality, and help define the shipping experience with product and industrial design partners.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience writing microcontroller firmware in C and C++.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience shipping motor or actuator-control systems using PID, feed-forward, FOC, observers, or similar techniques.
- Comfort using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and I²C, SPI, or I²S bus traffic.
- Working knowledge of Python or another scripting language for measurement automation and data analysis.
- Clear written communication and the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-firmware teammates.
- Strong instinct for distinguishing high-quality haptic experiences.
