Base Salary
$175k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design discussions and produce clear design documents.
- Drive implementation of large features for the storage platform.
- Improve data durability and service throughput.
- Drive architectural changes supporting long-term service requirements.
- Shape coding methodologies and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 7+ years of object-oriented programming experience in an enterprise environment, with a heavy focus on backend development.
- Experience building large-scale software systems running on thousands of servers.
- Professional experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Gemini, Cursor, or Claude Code.
- Comfort with software design, implementation, testing, rollout, and the broader software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Java or Rust is a bonus.
- Experience with host-managed SMR solutions, CPU and I/O performance improvements, hard drive optimization, models, dashboards, or reports is beneficial.
- Understanding of Linux internals and file systems is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, adaptability, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
