Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for performance and reliability issues in Spark, SQL, Delta, streaming, and Databricks runtime features.
- Identify monitoring requirements and work with R&D and NOC teams to improve customer environments.
- Build rapid proof-of-concepts and test, deploy, and monitor Databricks Engineering solutions for customer challenges.
- Create playbooks and maintain knowledge bases covering Spark, ML, and AI workflows.
- Train customer engineering and business teams on performance tuning, debugging, and Databricks best practices.
- Pilot process improvements, collaborate cross-functionally, and advocate for customers in business reviews.
- Partner with Field Engineering, Sales, and Product teams during customer engagements and technical presentations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary technical point of contact for strategic customers.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of experience designing, building, and troubleshooting distributed computing applications.
- At least four years of experience delivering production-scale Spark, ML, or AI solutions using Python, Java, or Scala.
- Hands-on expertise with data lakes, SQL-based databases, and cloud data warehousing or ETL tools such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Deep knowledge of Spark internals, Delta or Iceberg, JVM optimization, and memory management.
- Proficiency with AI ecosystems including machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and with building and managing pipelines, monitoring, and alerting systems.
- Three to five years of customer-facing experience in roles such as Technical Account Manager or Solutions Architect.
- Demonstrated proactive problem solving, risk mitigation, customer communication, cross-functional collaboration, and technical documentation skills.
