Base Salary

$168k - $262k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement custom UEFI/BIOS features for AWS server platforms.
  • Debug firmware issues using ITP, ScanTool, and JTAG tools.
  • Optimize boot-time performance and platform initialization sequences.
  • Implement secure boot, firmware security, firmware update, and recovery mechanisms.
  • Develop and maintain POST code, ACPI tables, power management features, and Platform Reference Code.
  • Support board bring-up, platform integration, validation, and debugging with hardware, CPU/GPU, silicon vendor, and ODM teams.
  • Review and validate ODM-provided BIOS code and coordinate BIOS development efforts.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, review technical specifications, lead architecture discussions, and establish coding standards.
  • Coordinate international teams, project timelines, deliverables, and communication with product management and customer teams.
  • Maintain relationships with silicon vendors and participate in industry forums and standards bodies.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
  • At least 4 years of embedded firmware development experience.
  • Preferred: at least 5 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
