Base Salary
$168k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement custom UEFI/BIOS features for AWS server platforms.
- Debug firmware issues using ITP, ScanTool, and JTAG tools.
- Optimize boot-time performance and platform initialization sequences.
- Implement secure boot, firmware security, firmware update, and recovery mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain POST code, ACPI tables, power management features, and Platform Reference Code.
- Support board bring-up, platform integration, validation, and debugging with hardware, CPU/GPU, silicon vendor, and ODM teams.
- Review and validate ODM-provided BIOS code and coordinate BIOS development efforts.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, review technical specifications, lead architecture discussions, and establish coding standards.
- Coordinate international teams, project timelines, deliverables, and communication with product management and customer teams.
- Maintain relationships with silicon vendors and participate in industry forums and standards bodies.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- At least 4 years of embedded firmware development experience.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
