Responsibilities
- Design and develop security features, security control systems, prototypes, products, and systems for testing.
- Develop secure coding standards and best practices and provide security expertise and user training.
- Support OT cybersecurity activities involving industrial networking, access control, firewalls, VPNs, digital certificates, and vulnerability management.
- Participate in security event analysis, incident response, control effectiveness reviews, and resolution of operating discrepancies.
- Identify and organize requirements, produce specifications, evaluate engineering risks and approaches, and develop plans for high-quality products and systems.
- Author technical reports, papers, articles, patents, and presentations.
- Set up and run laboratory simulations.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in OT or industrial support roles in manufacturing, energy, or similarly regulated environments.
- Hands-on experience supporting shop-floor OT systems and endpoints, including SCADA components, industrial PCs, CNC connectivity, and PLC/HMI environments.
- Practical knowledge of industrial networking, including segmentation, VLANs, firewall change coordination, DHCP/DNS impacts on OT, and industrial protocols such as OPC/OPC UA, Modbus, and EtherNet/IP.
- Working knowledge of OT cybersecurity practices and standards, with direct exposure to IEC 62443 or applicable industrial security frameworks.
- Experience with formal change management and incident/problem management processes.
- Preferred: exposure to NIS-2 compliance activities and experience with OT security tooling or patterns such as jump servers, secure remote access, endpoint hardening, application allowlisting, and passive OT monitoring.
- Preferred: understanding of OT backup and restore practices and configuration management for industrial endpoints.
- Preferred certifications include IEC 62443 training or certification, GIAC GICSP, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent.
