Responsibilities
- Own solution architecture for client engagements by defining data models, system designs, integration patterns, and technology choices.
- Lead client technical discovery, assess existing systems, and communicate architectural options and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Define reusable standards, patterns, and reference architectures for delivery teams.
- Build prototypes, proofs of concept, and early data pipeline or application components to validate architectural decisions.
- Partner with data and software engineers to resolve ambiguous technical problems and hand off proven technical direction.
- Review delivery-team designs and implementation decisions for architectural alignment.
- Set up early evaluation, testing, and monitoring approaches and contribute to internal tooling, accelerators, and knowledge-sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-8+ years of experience spanning data engineering and software engineering, with experience moving into solution or systems architecture.
- Demonstrated experience designing production data models, system architectures, and integration patterns.
- Hands-on proficiency in at least one modern language, such as Python or TypeScript, and the ability to prototype pipeline or application components.
- Strong grounding in data engineering fundamentals including pipeline design, data modeling, and ETL/ELT, plus software engineering fundamentals including API design, testing, and CI/CD.
- Experience in consulting or client-facing environments, including leading discovery conversations, presenting trade-offs, and managing ambiguity.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus.
