Responsibilities
- Provide technical services and support to customers on complex mainframe modernization and digital transformation projects.
- Design specific deliverables, assist with Rocket product deployments, and implement new solutions under Delivery Architect direction.
- Create proofs of concept, proofs of value, technology analyses, and pilots.
- Lead technical solution implementation, communicate project status and risks, and provide customers with technical advice.
- Determine technical resource needs, coordinate with project managers, estimate requirements, and assess scope changes and product defects.
- Conduct or assign code reviews and deliver internal and external technical presentations and training.
Requirements
- Require 5–7 years of relevant technical experience and experience with complex IT project implementations, customizations, or maintenance.
- Must have strong customer service, communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze test results and facilitate defect resolution.
- Require technical experience in at least two areas including IBM Enterprise COBOL or PL/I, IBM CICS, IMS, JCL, relational databases, Windows, Linux/UNIX, or major cloud infrastructure technologies.
- Prefer practical experience with mainframe application modernization, workload migration, COBOL modernization, application porting, and mainframe data modernization.
- Prefer experience with DevOps and Agile tools, automation pipelines, GitHub, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Prefer a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, Rocket COBOL products, additional mainframe languages or environments, relevant architecture certifications, or proficiency in another EU language.
