Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced SQL, PL/SQL, and T-SQL solutions for enterprise applications.
- Perform Oracle and MS SQL Server administration, including performance tuning, security configuration, and backup and recovery.
- Create and maintain tables, views, indexes, constraints, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and PL/SQL packages.
- Develop and manage ETL processes across systems and data pipelines.
- Optimize query and database performance using execution-plan analysis and tuning tools.
- Diagnose and resolve database issues while maintaining system stability and data integrity.
- Translate business data requirements into scalable database solutions with application developers and stakeholders.
- Conduct code reviews and maintain database security controls, documentation, development standards, and operational procedures.
- Recommend database improvements and collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 9+ years of hands-on experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and T-SQL.
- Strong Oracle and MS SQL Server administration skills, including performance tuning, security configuration, and backup and recovery.
- Experience designing complex database objects and developing and managing ETL processes.
- Expertise with partitioning, materialized views, sequences, synonyms, relational database concepts, normalization, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Execution Plan Analysis, and SQL Tuning Advisor.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools for query generation, code optimization, refactoring, and debugging.
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional, and continuous delivery teams.
- Exposure to PostgreSQL, cloud-based or hybrid cloud database platforms, data pipeline tools, modern ETL/ELT frameworks, or reinsurance and financial services is preferred.
- Strong technical documentation skills are preferred.
