Responsibilities
- Drive the technical direction of the iOS squad and ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with broader technology strategy.
- Lead the design and implementation of architecture patterns and turn technical vision into practical solutions.
- Own service health and performance while identifying optimisation opportunities and reducing technical risk.
- Champion testing, documentation, code quality, and continuous improvement of software development practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and lead innovation initiatives that improve platform capabilities and business outcomes.
- Mentor and coach engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and engineering excellence.
- Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, and other stakeholders on technical roadmaps, delivery outcomes, risk management, and knowledge sharing.
- Act as a technical advisor for the squad and support technical decisions and delivery guidance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing native iOS applications.
- Proven track record delivering scalable mobile solutions and major mobile features within high-performing engineering teams.
- Experience building customer-facing or enterprise-grade applications in Agile environments.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and improving engineering practices and processes.
- Ability to collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders to shape technical roadmaps and outcomes.
- Deep expertise in Swift, iOS SDK, SwiftUI, UIKit, and architecture patterns such as MVVM, VIPER, or TCA.
- Strong understanding of mobile performance optimisation, testing practices, REST or GraphQL API integration, and microservices-based architectures.
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, accessibility standards, and mobile development best practices.
