Responsibilities
- Scout for and apply frontier AI research, emerging system designs, architectural patterns, models, and frameworks in prototypes and proofs of concept.
- Design and build rapid AI prototypes and MVPs in short, outcome-focused exploration cycles.
- Translate user, customer, and product problems into technically feasible AI solution concepts.
- Implement end-to-end AI capabilities across SAP applications, backend services, data pipelines, APIs, and user-facing applications.
- Define and execute evaluations covering functional quality, model or agent behavior, latency, cost, reliability, privacy, and security.
- Collaborate with product managers, project leads, UX designers, architects, data scientists, developers, customers, and business stakeholders.
- Communicate technical decisions, progress, risks, and findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute reusable components, templates, evaluation methods, and engineering practices.
- Support developers through design discussions, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and hands-on technical guidance.
Requirements
- Several years of hands-on experience building cloud-native software, AI applications, or data-intensive systems.
- Strong development skills in Python, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Practical experience with applied AI, including LLM applications, RAG, agent frameworks, tools, and skills.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs, services, integrations, and containerized applications.
- Ability to debug and improve application code, model behavior, data flows, integrations, logs, and runtime environments.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, product, design, architecture, and business stakeholders.
- Familiarity with SAP AI use cases, solutions, strategic initiatives, business processes, or application landscapes is particularly valuable.
- Experience with customer projects, co-innovation engagements, design-partner programs, or technical workshops is valuable.
- Experience with SAP BTP, CAP, SAP AI Core, SAP AI Launchpad, HANA, S/4HANA, Knowledge Graph, or SAP Product Standards is valuable.
