Base Salary
$95k - $176k/yr
Responsibilities
- Maintain existing tax compliance systems while helping transition the platform from a monolith to cloud-native microservices.
- Design and build elastic, fault-tolerant, high-performance, scalable software systems and REST APIs.
- Develop full-stack web applications using .NET technologies and modern front-end frameworks.
- Design and work with relational databases and public cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to respond to failing tests and engineer quality into the software.
- Build and deliver hands-on technology proof-of-concepts and demonstrations.
- Work effectively in self-directed Agile/Scrum teams with both co-located and geographically distributed colleagues.
- Support regular delivery of releasable code, including branching, merging, pull requests, and hot-fix workflows.
- Take ownership of technical problems and support the legacy codebase during modernization.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in a software engineering environment, including work with co-located and geographically distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithm design, plus strong object-oriented design and development skills.
- Strong programming experience with .NET Framework and .NET Core, preferably with C#.
- Strong experience designing and developing web applications and REST APIs using ASP.NET or similar frameworks; API gateway experience is a plus.
- Experience with Angular, AngularJS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL; NoSQL experience is a plus.
- Experience with public cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, including EC2, S3, ALB, Auto Scaling, RDS, Lambda, and SQS.
- Container experience with Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes is a plus.
- Working experience with AI developer tools such as Claude, Copilot, or Cursor.
- Awareness of CI/CD and DevOps concepts and tools, plus experience with unit testing and test automation.
- Working experience with Git and GitFlow, including pull requests, branching, and merging across releases and hot fixes.
- Effective written and verbal communication, willingness to learn legacy systems, adaptability, initiative, and results orientation.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum team environments and delivering code on a regular release cadence.
