Responsibilities
- Build AI-powered agents and tools end-to-end, from client problem discovery and prototyping through evaluation and production deployment.
- Design and implement LLM integrations using prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs, and retrieval-augmented workflows.
- Define evaluation criteria and build test harnesses for domain-specific AI systems.
- Work directly with clients to understand workflows, validate AI behavior, and iterate toward production quality.
- Partner with core engineering teams to generalize client-specific solutions into product features.
- Contribute to shared AI infrastructure, including agent frameworks, tool integrations, and deployment pipelines.
- Monitor and maintain production AI systems for reliability, cost, and performance.
- Travel up to 15% to client sites, including occasional overnight and multi-day engagements, and work outside standard business hours when needed for client time zones.
Requirements
- Extensive professional software engineering experience.
- Professional experience with Python.
- Experience with LLM APIs such as Claude or GPT, including function calling and structured outputs.
- Comfort using SQL for data exploration and data-grounded AI workflows.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
- Experience building something from zero to one and taking projects from prototype to production.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, another quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom from the first day of employment.
- Nice-to-have experience with agentic systems, additional backend languages such as Java, financial data, AWS, container-based deployments, and AI evaluation frameworks or methodologies.
