Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior technical leader across the Cloud Security engineering organization.
- Define technical strategy and architecture across multiple Cloud Security domains and products.
- Design highly scalable, distributed, cloud-native security systems.
- Prototype, implement, review, and troubleshoot production-quality code and critical components.
- Lead cross-team technical initiatives from architecture through production.
- Identify architectural gaps, technical debt, scalability challenges, and platform improvement opportunities.
- Establish technical patterns and engineering standards across multiple teams.
- Mentor and influence senior engineers, architects, and technical leaders without direct authority.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to translate security and business requirements into technical solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and drive effective AI adoption across products and engineering.
- Participate in architecture reviews and complex customer or production challenges.
Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, including significant senior individual-contributor, architect, or technical leadership experience.
- Prior experience as a Principal Engineer, Distinguished Engineer, Architect, or equivalent senior technical individual contributor in a large-scale engineering environment.
- Exceptional software engineering and hands-on coding skills.
- Strong architecture and system-design capabilities for large-scale distributed and cloud-native systems.
- Broad understanding of AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, containers, identity, networking, data, and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity and Cloud Security concepts and technologies.
- Ability to move between high-level architecture and low-level implementation.
- Experience influencing technical direction across multiple teams and organizations without direct authority.
- Experience leading complex cross-team initiatives from architecture through production.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Preferred experience in Cloud Security or CNAPP, including CSPM, CIEM, CWP, CDR, Kubernetes Security, DSPM, ASPM, or Shift-Left security.
- Preferred experience building security products or platforms at significant scale, working across technology companies and cybersecurity startups, and designing platforms for large-scale security telemetry and cloud data.
- Preferred patents, publications, open-source contributions, or other meaningful technical contributions.
