Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, document, test, troubleshoot, and coordinate implementation of application and medical-device interfaces.
- Develop new interfaces and enhancements to existing interfaces using integration toolsets, Epic Bridges, and healthcare data exchange standards.
- Provide architectural guidance for robust and scalable Data Exchange solutions and support Epic Bridges data-point onboarding.
- Implement and assist with the FHIR adoption strategy, including data modeling, storage, querying, security, and exchange policies.
- Manage small to medium-sized projects, track completion and stabilization, and report roadblocks.
- Develop interface testing strategies and maintain current Data Exchange documentation.
- Serve as a technical resource to IT staff, management, and client stakeholders, and assume on-call responsibilities when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software development, business administration, or a related field, or 10 additional years of comparable work experience in lieu of the degree.
- At least six years of strong Data Exchange experience developing, maintaining, and operating application and device data interfaces.
- Experience with interface engines such as Corepoint or GlobalScape EFT and standards including HL7, X12, and DICOM.
- Epic Bridges Certification is required.
- Familiarity with HL7, XML, and FHIR standards.
- CorePoint certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
- Epic experience is preferred; 10 or more years of healthcare IT experience will be considered.
