Responsibilities
- Build tools for monitoring and measuring infrastructure, microservices, and unique workloads.
- Provide end-to-end observability capabilities that are easy for engineers to use.
- Extract, transform, and load metrics, logs, and traces for application monitoring.
- Improve developer experience and help colleagues understand observability data.
- Contribute to incident prevention and faster recovery through tooling, automation, and people-centered processes.
- Use automation to reduce repetitive tasks and support the security and compliance of the technology stack.
- Manage provisioning and deployment through infrastructure as code in a cloud-only environment.
Requirements
- Understand the core observability signals: metrics, logs, and traces.
- Have experience with tools such as Prometheus, StatsD, OpenTelemetry libraries, Vector, Beats, FluentBit, OpenSearch, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Have solid skills in at least one glue language such as Go or Python.
- Be comfortable working with Linux and cloud environments.
- Have experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and AWS CDK.
- Demonstrate a strong desire to learn and improve and an interest in cutting-edge technologies.
