Responsibilities
- Define the long-term technical vision and architecture roadmap for warehouse engineering systems.
- Design and build a standardized warehouse integration layer for third-party warehouse operators and WMS platforms.
- Define integration contracts, APIs, monitoring, observability, reconciliation, and operational standards for scalable warehouse partner onboarding.
- Architect and build a proprietary multi-tenant WMS supporting inbound, outbound, inventory, and fulfillment workflows across Quince-operated and third-party facilities.
- Own the architecture and evolution of the end-to-end returns and reverse logistics platform, including intake, replenishment, restocking, refurbishment, and disposition.
- Build operational tooling that improves visibility, control, throughput, reliability, and observability across warehouse and returns operations.
- Architect AI-powered capabilities such as exception management, workflow routing, operational automation, and warehouse analytics in partnership with data science teams.
- Lead architecture reviews and critical technical decisions across warehouse, logistics, supply chain, and platform teams.
- Establish standards for scalability, reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
- Mentor senior engineers, contribute to hiring and development, and provide technical leadership across a globally distributed organization.
- Partner with warehouse operations, logistics leaders, and business stakeholders to translate operational challenges into scalable technical solutions.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale operational, supply chain, or warehouse management systems.
- Experience designing and scaling distributed systems and event-driven architectures in production.
- Deep expertise in highly reliable systems where data integrity and operational correctness are critical.
- Experience designing standardized integration platforms, multi-tenant architectures, data isolation strategies, APIs, and external platform consumption models.
- Experience leading architecture and technical strategy across multiple teams and business domains.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, fulfillment workflows, and operational system design.
- Experience balancing scalability, performance, reliability, and operational complexity.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical and business leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor senior engineers and drive engineering excellence across organizations.
- Experience leveraging AI-enabled development workflows and integrating AI capabilities into operational platforms.
- Preferred experience building or architecting WMS platforms, commercial WMS solutions, reverse logistics workflows, e-commerce fulfillment, 3PL operations, warehouse automation, multi-tenant SaaS platforms, or supply chain technology organizations.
- Preferred experience partnering with data science and optimization teams to operationalize planning and decision-making models at scale.
