Responsibilities
- Lead development projects, define technical approaches, and maintain architectural standards.
- Design, code, debug, and enhance complex surveillance applications through the software development lifecycle.
- Establish code standards, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
- Create system design plans, evaluate technology choices, and ensure scalability and security.
- Build generative AI applications involving natural-language interfaces, LLM integration, structured-data querying, RAG, text-to-SQL, vector databases, and agentic AI.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical defects and operational issues, taking ownership through resolution within defined SLAs.
- Work with users, stakeholders, and upstream application owners to resolve issues.
- Follow firm standards for issue documentation and incident management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams, including DevOps and product managers.
Requirements
- Approximately 10 years of experience with modern technology stacks including machine learning, AWS, DevOps, and containerization.
- Strong skills in Python, databases, and SQL, including MSSQL database concepts.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, AWS EMR, AWS Glue, GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, Nexus, and Kubernetes.
- Experience building generative AI applications with OpenAI, Gemini, or Anthropic integrations, prompt engineering, RAG, text-to-SQL, vector databases, and agentic AI.
- Experience with data lakes, ETL pipelines, Informatica, and business insight tools.
- Quantexa developer certification or an equivalent or higher qualification.
- Understanding of surveillance systems, regulatory compliance requirements, and financial-markets operations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, ownership, collaboration, mentoring, and code-review skills.
- Experience in financial-services surveillance and familiarity with market-abuse regulations is preferred.
- Understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and guidance is preferred.
- Java development and experience with NASDAQ SMARTS or similar trade or communications surveillance platforms are preferred.
