Responsibilities
- Develop and review software requirements, architecture, design, and code for safety-critical gas turbine engine control systems.
- Prepare and review certification plans, standards, procedures, compliance documents, and reports under DO-178C.
- Perform developer-level verification through reviews, analysis, and testing, and support formal verification activities.
- Support SOI audits, resolve certification findings, and analyze test results for compliance and system performance.
- Contribute to configuration management, baselining, release documentation, discrepancy tracking, and change control.
- Support simulation, engine test-bench, and flight-testing activities in collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and test organizations.
- Drive process improvements and collaborate with controls, systems, and supplier teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Software, or Aerospace Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in controls, embedded systems, avionics, or gas turbine environments.
- Strong experience with complex control systems or safety-critical software environments.
- Knowledge of RTCA DO-178C or similar standards such as ISO 26262, including certification planning, documentation, software development, and verification in a compliant environment.
- Experience with embedded software development, ideally including low-level programming such as assembly.
- Familiarity with configuration management and defect-tracking processes.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, technical documentation, prioritization, and systems-level skills.
- Leadership potential, ownership mindset, and the ability to work effectively in complex cross-functional environments.
- Preferred experience includes FADEC or single-channel engine control systems, powerplant systems, sensors, actuators, aircraft interfaces, legacy systems, and long-life certified products.
