Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for the Matter protocol stack.
- Lead technical initiatives, solve complex engineering challenges, and contribute to software architecture and long-term technical direction.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote technical excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Matter over Thread and Wi-Fi platforms.
- Contribute to the Matter open-source standard and improve customer outcomes.
- Support protocol compliance, certification, and interoperability testing.
- Debug and troubleshoot embedded systems using JTAG, GDB, and logic analyzers.
- Optimize embedded-system performance, reliability, and memory usage in resource-constrained environments.
- Develop technical documentation for internal and external audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in embedded systems development.
- Strong C++ proficiency, including memory management, concurrency, and object-oriented design.
- Extensive embedded-systems debugging experience using tools such as GDB, JTAG, and trace analyzers.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, including Wi-Fi and Thread.
- Familiarity with RTOS environments and low-level hardware interfaces such as UART, SPI, and I2C.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead technical projects.
- Experience using Python to automate builds and tests.
- Strong background in unit testing.
- Proficiency with revision-control and issue-tracking tools such as Git and Jira.
- Experience authoring technical documentation, including requirements and API specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English.
- Experience with AI-powered tools and technologies for productivity, analysis, and decision-making.
- Preferred experience includes Matter and HomeKit application-layer protocols, simulated and hardware test networks, Zephyr, Linux, IPv6, mDNS, and secure commissioning flows.
