Responsibilities
- Design and implement Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) for self-service infrastructure and application deployment.
- Architect scalable Backstage-based developer portals integrating infrastructure, CI/CD, and cloud services.
- Define platform standards, golden paths, and reusable templates for engineering teams.
- Deploy and configure Backstage in Kubernetes environments.
- Develop and customize Backstage plugins, software templates, service catalog, and TechDocs documentation.
- Integrate Backstage with engineering tools such as CI/CD pipelines and EKS clusters.
- Build automation workflows enabling developers to create services, provision infrastructure, and deploy applications.
- Implement self-service workflows using Backstage scaffolder templates.
- Integrate Backstage with Kubernetes platforms like Amazon EKS.
- Improve developer experience by simplifying application onboarding and deployment.
- Create standardized development workflows across teams.
- Maintain service ownership and metadata through Backstage catalog.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing Backstage developer portals in production.
- Experience designing Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) for engineering organizations.
- Experience integrating Backstage with Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Strong understanding of platform engineering and developer experience principles.
