Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and maintain software solutions for financial processes.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment.
- Build new features and products as part of an integrated engineering team.
- Use accounting expertise to identify gaps and improve automation and reconciliation workflows.
- Evaluate and deploy software tools, processes, and metrics.
- Provide support and consulting for software system usage.
- Design software applications and features in Golang.
- Build reports and automations using Python and SQL.
- Build and maintain distributed architecture that scales consistently.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to design products.
- Develop and collect metrics to improve existing products.
- Deliver testable features that meet reporting and compliance standards.
- Mentor engineering teammates and contribute to technical direction.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
- Experience building and serving APIs using Go, Java, Python, or a similar language.
- Required experience using Claude or equivalent large language model tools to support productivity, research, and communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience bringing forward new ideas and building consensus.
- Preferred prior experience as an accountant or financial analyst.
- Preferred understanding of financial operations including reconciliation, reporting, and compliance.
- Banking or financial institution experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Python, Java, and Go.
- Experience with database systems such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with software engineering tools, development methodology, and release processes.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, New Relic, or Datadog.
- Familiarity with containerized microservice architecture deployed with Kubernetes on AWS.
- Demonstrated history of delivering commercial APIs and web applications.
