Responsibilities
- Design scalable IBM Sterling Order Management System architectures for complex omnichannel order capture, orchestration, and fulfillment workflows.
- Create solution designs, configuration specifications, integration designs, data models, process flows, architecture documentation, and operational runbooks.
- Configure, administer, deploy, monitor, and performance-tune Sterling OMS environments, including property management and environment provisioning.
- Coordinate integrations between Sterling OMS and ecommerce, ERP, payment, upstream, and downstream systems.
- Provide technical direction to development and support teams, review code and configurations, and mentor project members.
- Define logging, alerting, dashboards, test strategies, defect resolution, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Assess Sterling OMS patches, releases, upgrades, migration strategies, compatibility, dry runs, and production cutovers.
- Coordinate with infrastructure and database teams on sizing, resilience, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Advocate secure design and compliance practices and align Sterling OMS solutions with enterprise architecture roadmaps.
- Contribute architectural insights to estimation and planning while identifying dependencies, risks, and opportunities for operational automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
- Seven to nine years of overall professional experience with significant focus on order management platforms and complex distributed systems.
- Deep hands-on expertise in IBM Sterling Order Management System, including configuration, pipeline design, rule authoring, and extension development.
- Strong IBM Sterling OMS administration experience covering provisioning, property management, deployment coordination, and performance tuning.
- Experience with REST-based services, message queues, or enterprise integration tools.
- Practical knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data modeling for design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language used for Sterling OMS customization and automation.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid arrangement with distributed teams and day-shift scheduling.
- Commitment to quality, security, compliance, development standards, and code review practices.
