Base Salary

$250k - $405k/yr

Responsibilities

Identify, prioritize, and execute opportunities to accelerate Perplexity’s delivery cadence using frontier AI capabilities.
Collaborate with technical and business teams to develop new ways to apply AI to their work.
Build prototypes and production systems and reengineer codebases, infrastructure, and processes.
Improve the legibility of codebases, systems, and knowledge stores for AI tools and agents.
Evaluate technologies and help make high-conviction bets that improve quality and velocity.
Promote an AI-forward culture in partnership with engineering leadership, recruiting, and other teams.

5 to 15+ years of industry experience, ideally including substantial infrastructure, platform engineering, or developer acceleration work in technically complex environments.
Daily use of AI models and tools with strong intuition about their capabilities and limitations.
Proficiency with Python and experience with or interest in learning Rust, TypeScript, Go, and other languages.
Broad knowledge of technology stacks used by AI product and applied research companies, including awareness of CUDA and its applications.
Strong technical judgment, cross-disciplinary empathy, and the ability to balance immediate delivery with long-term capacity building.
Experience improving the legibility and resilience of software and human-orchestrated processes.
