
Software Engineer III - Android Developer (Native, Kotlin)

- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and deliver creative software solutions for native mobile applications.
- Write secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring remediation and improve operational stability.
- Use and validate enterprise-authorized AI coding assistance for code generation, refactoring, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
- Apply software development lifecycle tools and automation capabilities to improve engineering outcomes.
- Lead evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams regarding architectural designs and technology applicability.
- Lead software engineering communities of practice focused on awareness and adoption of emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least three years of applied experience.
- At least three years of combined software or application development experience in mobile development.
- At least one year of AI engineering experience building native mobile applications.
- Strong Android development experience using Kotlin.
- Familiarity with MVVM, MVP, and MVC architecture patterns.
- Experience with Android and modern mobile development tools, testing frameworks, dependency injection, networking libraries, and source control.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to evaluate, validate, and refine generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile development practices.
- Preferred: experience optimizing and testing mobile applications on phones and understanding mobile-device challenges.
- Preferred: familiarity with Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, Java, C++, JavaScript, Ruby, and Python.
- Preferred: experience with Git, consuming web services from mobile platforms, and clarifying application requirements with business partners.
- Preferred: advanced communication skills.
