Base Salary

$173k - $260k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and maintain the unified Registration Authority serving as the certificate-issuance front door for Salesforce’s global multi-cloud platform.
  • Design and optimize highly concurrent, multi-substrate Go build paths and synchronous and asynchronous certificate issuance workflows.
  • Implement policy engines, authorization controls, workload identity and attestation validation, and certificate lifecycle automation.
  • Integrate multiple public and private Certificate Authorities and build resilient certificate provisioning systems.
  • Instrument telemetry, distributed tracing, metrics, and alerting to meet stringent availability and performance SLAs.
  • Mentor engineers, conduct rigorous code reviews, drive architectural consensus, and establish engineering best practices.
  • Respond to complex distributed-systems escalations, identify root causes, and deploy durable architectural fixes.
  • Partner with Security Architecture to translate compliance requirements into scalable software controls.
  • Establish AI-augmented development practices, prompt engineering workflows, shared system context, and critical evaluation of human- and AI-generated code.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of professional software development experience and a track record designing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
  • Production-grade expertise in Go, Java, or Rust, including concurrency patterns, memory management, and multi-substrate build configurations.
  • Experience deploying and operating highly available, mission-critical services across public clouds such as AWS and GCP.
  • Ability to design RESTful and gRPC services backed by distributed state machines and asynchronous processing pipelines.
  • Strong observability experience covering telemetry, distributed tracing, metrics, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor, along with advanced prompt engineering and shared-context workflows.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: deep knowledge of PKI, X.509 certificate profiles, mTLS architectures, certificate lifecycle management, and automated certificate provisioning.
  • Preferred: familiarity with post-quantum cryptography standards including ML-KEM, crypto-agility, Kubernetes, container orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, and multi-tenant policy engines.
