Responsibilities
- Design and develop new features across Pico’s market data, order execution, and analytics products.
- Build and maintain high-performance, multithreaded C systems under Linux for real-time market data and electronic trading.
- Develop automated unit and integration tests and deliver CI-aligned test automation using Jenkins.
- Tune performance for specific hardware and operating-system platforms.
- Analyze market data, trading protocols, network traffic, and end-to-end trade lifecycles.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, clients, and business teams, applying strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in a relevant engineering discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong proficiency in C development under Linux with a focus on maintainable code.
- Strong knowledge of capital markets and trading concepts, including order types and quotes.
- In-depth understanding of electronic trading protocols, including FIX.
- Experience developing high-performance systems, multithreaded applications, and knowledge of computer architecture.
- Experience with automated testing, including unit and integration testing, and continuous integration with Jenkins.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience, including 5+ years in electronic trading technology.
- Desirable experience with Linux development environments, gdb, valgrind, hardware and OS performance tuning, Python, Java, IP networking, Wireshark, multiple asset classes, client-facing work, and team leadership or management.
