Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, low-latency electronic execution systems.
- Build and enhance algorithmic trading, smart order routing, dark pool and internalization, connectivity, and market data capabilities.
- Partner with traders, quantitative researchers, clients, and product teams to deliver execution improvements, new liquidity sources, and direct market access capabilities.
- Improve testing frameworks, development tools, and environments for platform reliability and performance.
- Build and maintain monitoring, trade reconciliation, application recovery, and other common trading platform support solutions.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, production support, QA, and globally distributed cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to Agile development and continuous integration and delivery processes, including shift-left testing.
- Use Citi’s AI-powered development tools throughout the software development life cycle.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience with strong technical expertise in low-latency Java, C++, or Rust.
- Prior experience developing electronic trading platforms in a global financial institution or equivalent environment.
- Strong understanding of automated testing techniques and quality engineering practices.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and continuous integration processes.
- Knowledge of low-latency system design, performance optimization, concurrency, and high-throughput architecture.
- Knowledge of regional exchange microstructure and regulatory regimes.
- Bachelor’s or university degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced global environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain and understand complex concepts across multicultural, cross-regional teams.
- Prior experience managing small teams is a plus.
