Base Salary
$191k - $267k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve user-facing native Android experiences for discovering, consuming, creating, and engaging with Reddit content and communities.
- Lead projects through product definition, technical design, implementation, experimentation, launch, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with product, design, data science, ML, backend, and platform teams to shape strategy and deliver measurable user impact.
- Improve Android architecture, performance, reliability, accessibility, developer workflows, and engineering standards.
- Mentor teammates and drive cross-functional technical initiatives.
Requirements
- Professional experience developing native Android applications with Kotlin and strong knowledge of Android frameworks and application architecture.
- Ability to write idiomatic, readable, reusable, and testable code with strong debugging, performance optimization, reliability, and maintainability skills.
- Experience designing mobile systems and interfaces, evaluating architectural tradeoffs, and building scalable features from APIs through user-facing UI.
- Experience with experimentation, feature flags, instrumentation, analytics, and product or quality-of-experience metrics.
- Familiarity with Jetpack Compose, Android accessibility, Media3 or ExoPlayer, MediaCodec, HLS or DASH, recommendation systems, or ML-integrated products is preferred.
