Responsibilities
- Design, build, and refine production-quality web application features under the guidance of experienced software engineers.
- Develop frontend components and user experiences using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Build and enhance backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
- Translate business requirements and user feedback into scalable software solutions.
- Support reusable AI skills, agents, scaffolding patterns, iterative delivery workflows, playbooks, and development standards.
- Contribute to modernization and product development for strategic enterprise applications, including ADP Compass.
- Develop user-facing search, configuration, optimization-results, and comparison capabilities.
- Work with relational databases, data models, application schemas, and test datasets.
- Create and execute unit, integration, and user interface tests and assist with debugging and defect resolution.
- Participate in feature reviews, demonstrations, sprint-based development, and continuous improvement activities.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a master's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, information technology, management information systems, or a related technical field.
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot or a comparable backend framework.
- Experience with Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Understanding of REST API design and integration principles.
- Knowledge of SQL, relational database concepts, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub version control practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, work through ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, AI coding assistants, agent workflows, prompt engineering, reusable AI development patterns, or MCP-based integrations.
- Preferred qualifications include automated testing experience with JUnit, Playwright, Jest, Jasmine, or Karma.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Azure, AKS, containers, authentication, observability tools, optimization algorithms, performance tuning, or data-intensive applications.
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Benefits
- Competitive hourly pay of $22.50–$25.00 and eligibility for overtime after more than 40 hours per week or as required by law.
