Base Salary

$135k - $200k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Work with forward-deployed and customer engineers to identify product gaps, improvements, and fixes
  • Build and evolve APIs that allow internal and customer developers to interact with Kubernetes runtime capabilities
  • Use Kubernetes primitives, its open-source ecosystem, and service lifecycle semantics to solve business-critical problems at scale
  • Abstract complex distributed systems into an infrastructure-agnostic runtime for specialized microservices
  • Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to deliver timely, sustainable technical solutions
  • Champion a long-term technology roadmap focused on scalability, reduced operational burden, and risk reduction
  • Engage with Palantir’s infrastructure strategy and customer stakeholder needs

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience
  • 1+ year contributing to system design or architecture for new or existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling
  • 1+ year as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader
  • Strong coding skills in Go, Java, or an equivalent language
  • Experience designing, building, and operating high-scale observability or infrastructure systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Active US security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to articulate the impact of technical work
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems independently using observability tools and service logs
  • Experience developing and managing highly available distributed systems
  • Deep familiarity with Kubernetes and its broader open-source ecosystem
