Responsibilities
- Develop, mature, debug, and tune high-fidelity models of GWS Fire Control tactical software.
- Provide technical contributions and guidance to modeling and simulation products supporting GWS design and development.
- Use software design, data structures, object-oriented programming, data analytics, and root cause analysis to represent tactical behavior.
- Validate, verify, benchmark, and optimize models, algorithms, and simulations against tactical systems.
- Collaborate across teams while following team processes, workflows, and coding standards.
- Travel up to 10% of the time to support program or customer needs.
Requirements
- Level 2 requires a bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of relevant professional experience, or a master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 1 year of experience.
- Level 3 requires a bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of relevant professional experience, or a master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience.
- Demonstrated software development experience with languages or tools such as C, C++, MATLAB, Java, ADA, Python, or Git.
- Experience or strong comprehension of object-oriented programming and design, including SOLID design principles.
- Experience or strong comprehension of modeling and simulation concepts, including validating, verifying, and benchmarking models against tactical systems.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, collaboration, and ability to work within team processes and coding standards.
- An active, current, in-scope U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required to start.
- Preferred qualifications include Cython, C++ model development, MATLAB and Python modeling and simulation, runtime optimization, and ADA experience.
