Base Salary
$138k - $173k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and improve features across React/TypeScript web and React Native/Expo mobile applications.
- Own features end-to-end from design and API implementation through coding, testing, shipping, and production monitoring.
- Drive architecture and technical direction across web, mobile, and API layers, including scalable technical documentation.
- Improve application stability, performance, user experience, code quality, and engineering practices.
- Design and build NestJS/TypeScript APIs supporting web and mobile experiences.
- Use AI tools for coding, debugging, code review, research, and broader engineering leverage.
- Triage and resolve bugs, perform targeted refactoring, and conduct thoughtful code reviews.
- Lead technical projects and cross-functional initiatives while anticipating delivery risks.
- Mentor and coach engineers and cross-functional partners through complex problems.
- Build frameworks, standards, and tooling that improve team effectiveness beyond individual features.
Requirements
- Strong production TypeScript and React experience, ideally on a mature product rather than only greenfield projects.
- Full-stack experience designing APIs and working with PostgreSQL and Redis, including tracing issues across UI, API, and database layers.
- Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end architecture across web, mobile, and API platforms, with scalable documentation practices.
- Track record improving mature, customer-facing products used by thousands of customers without breaking them.
- Active use of AI tools to accelerate engineering work and identify additional leverage.
- Understanding of REST APIs, frontend-backend interactions, and web and mobile performance trade-offs.
- Ability to communicate clearly, work through ambiguity, self-direct, prioritize, and collaborate with product and design.
- Experience mentoring engineers, providing constructive feedback, and contributing to technical direction.
- Hands-on React Native experience is preferred.
- Experience with video streaming, security camera systems, or POS/retail technology is preferred.
- Familiarity with automated testing using Jest, Detox, Playwright, or similar tools is preferred.
- Exposure to mobile CI/CD and App Store or Play Store release pipelines is preferred.
- Experience building or integrating AI-powered features and LLM capabilities into user-facing products is preferred.
- NestJS or other Node.js backend framework experience is preferred.
- Candidates must undergo a criminal records check, be a Canadian citizen or eligible to work in Canada, and comply with Solink security policies.
